Ang unang biktimang binawian ng buhay ay si Marcial Taldo, drayber ni Gabriela party-list Rep. Luzviminda Ilagan na nasaktan din sa pagsabog. Namatay din si Maan Bustalino, staff ng sugatan ding si Negros Oriental Rep. Pryde Henry Teves.
Isang atake sa House of Representatives at terrorist act ang naganap, ayon kay House Speaker Jose De Venecia. Iniutos naman ni Pangulong Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo sa Philippine National Police na imbestigahan ang pagsabog.
Ayon pa sa mga ulat, naka-full alert na ang PNP at maglagay sila ng mga checkpoint sa Kamaynilaan. Iimbestigahan din ang nasunog na motorsiklo sa lugar ng insidente na posible raw ginamit sa pagpasok ng mga pampasabog.
